The Radio Club of Tacoma is once again celebrating our Pacific Northwest cryptid families (Bigfoot) and their related cousins in the swamps of the southeast (Skunk Ape) with the

3rd annual National Sasquatch Awareness Day special event!

WATCH FOR CALLSIGNS - W7B, W7I, W7G, W7F, W7O, W7T, and the bonus station W4S!

DATES: 0000 Zulu (UTC) October 13, 2026, through 2359 Zulu (UTC) October 21, 2026

MODES: CW, SSB, FT-8/4, RTTY

BANDS: 80M, 40M, 20M, 17M, 15M, 12M, 10M

As always, the challenge is to try to contact all stations (including 2 contacts with W7O on different bands, dates, or modes) for the Big Stomp! And a new challenge this year is to contact all stations using the same mode (CW, Phone, Digital, Mixed).

QSOs will be posted in real-time, or at least nightly on QRZ!

BIGFOOT CERTIFICATES

Anyone who contacts at least 1 Bigfoot Special Event Station can request the 2026 full-color BigFoot certificate. But the challenge is to contact ALL stations (including 2 QSOs with W7O stations) to spell out BIGFOOT!

To receive a certificate (and a QSL card) for this year's event:

Download and complete the Bigfoot Certificate form

Submit the Bigfoot Certificate form with a check or money order for $5 USD to the address below.
