Programming the Leixen VV-898 with CHIRP
Thanks to Steve Spence for this informative video.
Very good explanation on how to program the Leixen VV-898 mobile radio in that is installed in your vehicle.
It is a little blurry at points but very informative.

New Version of Chirp - is anybody else having problems?
Two friends of mine got new Baofeng radios, went to the Chirp site and downloaded the latest version of Chirp. Both users had previous versions of Chirp and when they tried to read their radios the software could not read their radios.
They contacted me and I suggested trying an older version of the software, which worked.
We are putting this out to our extended Ham Radio Family to see if anyone had been able to get latest Chirp version in the daily builds to work.
Thanks

Rookie Roundup
From my friend, Devon Day, KF6KEE:
Dear Very Important Ham Radio Operators,
My two amateur radio teams from Wilson and McBride High Schools will be participating in their very first ARRL Rookie Roundup contest on Sunday April 19th from 9 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time.
Enduf Buckley, KG6FLY is the event chairman. We have adult advisors posted at each band station from our adult amateur radio club here in Long Beach, ARALB.
We will be using the McBride Club Call Sign K6MHS but each operator will also use their individual call sign. Just listen for "CQ Rookie Roundup" and come back to give these kids an exciting day.
Please forward this to a few of your favorite hams and send it out to your local club. I dream that this flier could reach 1000s of radio operators by the time the contest takes place on the 19th.
Thank you for your support of amateur radio in the schools.
73,
Devon Day, KF6KEE
